[ARPSSUPPORT] ext2arps using grib2 issue

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the response. We are using half-degree GFS data and I have dumped out the g2print output for the first record (see below) and while I don't see anything that indicates it is grid #4, I am pretty sure that it is. We are running arps version 5.2.11.

Thanks for your help

>We are trying to run ext2arps using a gfs grib2 file as input and we are getting the following core dump. When we read the grib2 file using wgrib2 the file appears to be a good file. When we built ext2arps we built with all the required grib2 libraries (libjasper, libpng, libz). Any suggestions?

Hi...

There are two types of GFS data. One is GFS grid 3, with 1 deg x 1 deg
resolution. The other is GFS grid 4, with 0.5 deg x 0.5 deg resolution.

You specified "extdopt" of 20, so you should be using the grid 4 data.
Please confirm that is what you are using. If you are using the correct
data, please let us know what version of ARPS you are using, so we can look
into the problem.

Although we don't use GFS in our daily forecasts, we bring in both the grid 3
and grid 4 data.
